Tags from Midjourney, DALL-E, Firefly, Flux, Leonardo, and more.
๐Ÿ“
GPS Coordinates
Exact lat/lon written by phones and cameras โ€” shows where you were.
๐Ÿ’ฌ
Prompt Text
Generation prompts stored in XMP or PNG text chunks โ€” readable by anyone.

Recommended workflow

1
Inspect here
Drop your image into the checker above. See exactly what is embedded.
2
Decide what to strip
C2PA triggers AI labels. XMP reveals your tools. GPS reveals your location. You choose.
3
Strip with StripShot
Binary-level removal. No re-encoding. Zero quality loss. 3 free strips/day.
4
Upload clean
Post to Instagram, Pinterest, Etsy, or anywhere. No AI label.

Questions

Does this tool upload my image?
No. All scanning runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device and is never sent to any server. Even your file name is not logged.
What is a C2PA Content Credential?
C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) is an open standard where AI tools embed a cryptographically signed block inside your image file. This block records which tool created the image, when, and often with what parameters. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest read this block on upload and apply the Made with AI label automatically.
Why does my real photo show AI metadata?
False positives happen when you edit a real photo using AI-assisted features like Photoshop Generative Fill, Lightroom AI Denoise, or CapCut AI effects. These tools can embed C2PA or XMP tags even when only a small part of the image was AI-assisted. The checker will show you exactly what triggered it.
What is the difference between this checker and StripShot?
This checker is read-only. It inspects and reports what metadata is in your file without changing anything. StripShot removes the metadata. The recommended workflow is always: inspect first, then strip.
Can the checker detect invisible watermarks?
No. Invisible watermarks like SynthID from Google DeepMind are steganographically embedded in pixel data and cannot be detected through metadata inspection. This checker reads file-level metadata only.
Which image formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG, and WebP. The checker scans all three for C2PA, EXIF, XMP, and text chunk data.
